OnStar and Google Partner to allow Turn-by-Turn Navigation
GM OnStar and Google have reached an agreement that will let OnStar users search destinations using Google Maps and send those destinations to the Turn-by-Turn Navigation Service in their vehicles. The Turn-by-Turn Navigation feature will be available through Google Maps at the end of June. New towing ratings for 2011 Silverado HD and Sierra trucks
General Motors just announced the new towing capacities for the 2011 Chevrolet Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD full-size trucks. The new trucks now has a towing capacity of 21,700 pounds and can carry 6,635 pounds of payload, which is about 4,700 pounds more than the standard tow rating. Read the rest of this entry »
mini Buick Enclave soon to arrive 2012?
Looks like GM will be offering the mini Buick Enclave instead of the Chevrolet Orlando crossover in the U.S. During a CBS interview with GM’s main designer, Ed Welburn, we caught a glimpse footage of a mini SUV in the making. GM doubling size of its automotive battery lab in the U.S.
It order to meet demand of battery power for the new 2012 electric Volt, General Motors Co. is doubling the size of its largest and most technologically advanced automotive battery lab in the U.S. The battery lab will use to improve on-site safety, charging, engineering and manufacturing testing capabilities for all current and new battery cell, module and pack technologies.
Side Blind Zone Alert system in Buick LaCrosse
The Side Blind Zone Alert system will be available in the the new Buick LaCrosse to help drivers avoid those lane change mishaps that could result in an accident. What it is if the Side Blind Zone Alert system detects a vehicle in the adjacent lane, the system will illuminate a symbol on the side view mirror alerting the driver. If the driver activates the turn signal in the direction of the detected vehicle, the symbol will flash continuously to alert the driver of danger until the other vehicle has left the blind zone.
